"Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children." Charles R. Swindoll
As parents ourselves, we have grown to understand more and more over time, just how big of a responsibility it is to be the custodian of the memories and self-image our children carry with them from their early years.
A child's identity over their life can be thought of as the image they hold of themselves from the earliest time they spend with their family until they become adults. It is emotional, it is tangible and often it is very visual.
There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other, wings. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
In our home it has become a ritual! When the grandchildren visit THEY pull out the albums and photo boxes. You know how children are, especially young ones, they love to hear stories over and over. As adults we wonder how they can stand the repetition, but think about what they are doing; they are building their family history in their minds. They are looking at the images, hearing the stories and their brains are becoming hard-wired to understand their place in the family. They make us tell those stories that go with each photo and I'll tell you what, if we deviate from the last time they heard it, they will let us know!
We feel very strongly about being a family's trusted advisor when it comes to their family's photographic legacy. We strive to be there to either create the images that will enrich your children's lives, or give you help in preserving the images you create yourself. We actually have an entire part of our business that is dedicated to ensuring that parents have the opportunity to create photographic art for their children every year.
